Our aim

To give people in India clear, checkable information about food and weight management, without hype, fear or promises.

Sources

  • Every number shows where it came from and when. We prefer official and peer-reviewed sources: national food composition tables, FSSAI and ministry notices, and published research.
  • Food values come from food composition tables (for example USDA FoodData Central) or are estimated from standard recipes; each dish says which.
  • Product ratings are based only on the public information on each product’s Amazon.in listing, its written details and its images, read on the date shown on the rating page. Our methodology explains how. We write in our own words and do not copy the seller’s text.

Writing rules

  • We never promise weight loss and never say a food or product “burns fat”, “detoxes” or treats, cures or prevents a disease. We write “studied for” instead of “works for”.
  • No calorie targets for children, no “lose X kg in Y days”, and nothing aimed at people under 18.
  • News articles are our own research, written in our own words with the short answer first. Their length follows the material, usually 400 to 4,000 words. Each links to the primary source (the order, notice or study) and its date, lists the further sources we used, and credits the outlet that first reported the story. We never copy or lightly reword another publisher’s article, and we do not use paywalled content.
  • Views answer a question first, are labelled as opinion and analysis, and run up to 4,000 words.

Review

Every article and every rating is checked before it is published. Articles name their author and their reviewer, a member of our editorial team with expertise in the topic, with the review date. Our editors and their fields are listed on the About page.

AI writing tools help prepare some of our drafts. A person checks every fact, source and claim before publishing.

Independence

Ratings use published formulas (see our methodology). Sponsors and advertisers cannot see, change or remove a rating before or after it is published. See our disclosures.
