This notice explains how Nutripedia (“NutriPedia”, “we”) handles personal data on nutripedia.in, under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
Summary
- Most of NutriPedia works without any personal data. The How much should I eat? planner runs in your browser and sends nothing to us.
- We collect your email (and phone, if you choose) only when you ask a nutrition expert or send feedback, and use it for that purpose.
- We contact you about paid help only if you switch it on, and you can stop it at any time.
- Google shows advertisements on some pages and uses cookies to do so.
What we collect and why
| When | What | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Ask a Nutrition Expert | Your question, email (required), phone number (optional) | To answer your question and to contact you if it needs clarifying |
| Ask a Nutrition Expert, if you switch on “personal assistance” | The same details | To contact you about further support, including paid weight-management products and services from NutriPedia and selected partners (see below) |
| Comments and Feedback | Your message, the type of message, and your email if you give it | To act on your report or suggestion and reply if you asked us to |
| How much should I eat? | Nothing is sent to us. Your weight stays in your browser tab so Explore Food can personalise walking times, and is cleared when you close the tab |
We do not ask for your name, and we do not collect health records.
Your choices about contact
The details you give to ask a question are used only to respond to your query and not for any marketing purpose.
Separately, you can switch on “personal assistance with weight management”. Only then may NutriPedia, or a trusted partner, contact you about further support, which may include paid plans. If you switch it on, we may share your email, phone number and the topic of your question with partners who provide weight-management support, who may use them only for this purpose. Not switching it on never affects the answer to your question.
You can withdraw this at any time by emailing nutripediaindia@gmail.com. We then stop contacting you and stop sharing your details.
How long we keep it
We keep questions and contact details only for as long as we need them to answer you, or until you ask us to delete them. Details shared for personal assistance are kept until you withdraw. Feedback without contact details may be kept to keep our corrections log.
Advertising and cookies
NutriPedia shows advertisements from Google (Google AdSense) on some pages. Google and its partners use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can turn off personalised advertising at Google’s Ads Settings and read how Google uses information from sites that use its services. Other third-party vendors may also use cookies to serve ads.
Wix, our website host, and its security and delivery services may also set cookies needed to run the site and keep it secure.
Who we share data with
- Our service providers, who run the website and email for us (for example Wix, our website host), only to provide those services.
- Partner providers, only if you switch on personal assistance (see above).
- Authorities, if the law requires it.
We never sell your data.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct or erase your personal data, withdraw your consent, and nominate someone to act for you. Write to nutripediaindia@gmail.com. If you are not satisfied with our reply, contact our grievance officer: Deepu Oommen, nutripediaindia@gmail.com, 5-7/206, Block 7, Sanjanas Interlaken, Dhulapally, Hyderabad 500100, India. You may also complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Children
NutriPedia is for adults. The planner does not give numbers to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
