    FSSAI: permittedModerate evidence

Psyllium husk (isabgol) is a soluble fibre from the seeds of Plantago ovata that swells into a gel in water. Taken before meals, it has been studied for fullness and body weight, with small benefits in some reviews but not all, and it lowers LDL cholesterol. It is generally well tolerated if taken with plenty of water.
