How we rate

  • Formula and evidence

How closely the formula matches the products science has studied for weight management, times how strong that science is. No promise of results.

  • Ingredient quality

How clean and clear the label is: sugar, fillers, fat, transparency and additives, with a matrix for each category.

  • Taste

Our reviewer's own tasting, or else Amazon customer ratings (needs at least 30). Each page says which.

  • Affordability

Price of one complete meal, or per gram of the main ingredient. The cheapest scores 5; twice its price scores 2.5.

The overall rating weights them: formula and evidence 50%, ingredient quality 20%, taste 15% and affordability 15%. Limits are not averaged in, so good scores elsewhere cannot hide them: a missing FSSAI licence number caps the rating at 2.0, a prohibited claim at 2.5, no reliable evidence or an unsafe dose at 1.5, and a weak formula at 3.4. Payment never changes a rating. Full methodology.
